We offer a variety of educational training programs and consulting services.

PROGRAMS

Nurse Aide Training Program

This program is designed to provide didactic and practical instruction for participants who desire work as nursing assistants in the health care setting.

Basic bedside nursing procedures are taught along with concepts of the aging process, diseases of the elderly, communication techniques, environmental/resident/staff safety, infection control including bloodborne pathogens, promotion of resident independence, emergency procedures, comfort measures for pain management, confidentiality, HIPAA, and behavior intervention techniques.

Training includes abuse and neglect prevention, focusing on stress management and residents’ rights. The trainee is given an understanding of the importance of health care team attitudes, which affect job performance and satisfaction.

  • Approved by the Pennsylvania Department of Education
  • 111 Hours ( 60 hours theory, 11 hours lab, 40 hours clinical)

Criteria for Admission

  • High School graduate or GED

  • Requires wide range of body motion, manual dexterity and hand/eye coordination.

  • Involves mobility in transporting and handling of residents and equipment of moderate weight.

  • Requires corrected vision

  • Physical exam, up-to-date immunizations, and TB testing

  • 18 years of age

  • CHRI (criminal history record information) is mandated from the PA State Police. For those who have not been a PA resident for the last two years, a FBI criminal background investigation must be completed.
